Our Organisation:

The Football Association (The FA) is the governing body of football in England. We are responsible for promoting and developing the game at all levels; from grass roots through to the professional game, The FA Cup and the England International teams, and has two core assets: Wembley Stadium and St George’s Park.

The Role:

Responsible for creating and delivering outstanding video content for official England channels.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Create video in line with digital, brand and team strategy and develop outstanding  original series and formats
  • Working behind the scenes with England national teams, part of team strategy and collaborating with multiple stakeholders so the voice of the team is aligned
  • Being in England camp environments for long periods and working remotely in the UK and abroad approximately 30 weeks of the year
  • Shoot and edit high quality and platform specific video series’ with a mobile first audience in mind
  • Creating and communicating content plans to wider team and taking on feedback from a data first perspective
  • Be able to work independently and be proactive and positive in problem solving
  • Producing hub and hero output for owned and third party channels
  • Proactive in creating ideas for different channels and audiences around various England teams
  • Communicate latest trends and technologies, for both live and video on demand (VoD)
  • Be part of a driven content team that constantly seeks to improve output, process and working culture
  • When required, work with external agencies to improve The FA’s overall video content offering and processes
  • Execute additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities

What we are looking for:


  • Strong understanding of video on owned and third party channels and a willingness to innovate and embrace new technology and ideas
  • How to utilise visual media in story-telling
  • Understanding of different tone of voice in team environments
  • Creating ideas and executing them to a high standard
  • Ability to produce, shoot and edit a variety of content
  • Working “on the road” as will be across multiple England teams travelling home and away
  • Working with high profile stakeholders and professional athletes and adhering to team standards
  • Problem solving in high pressure situations

Technical Skills

  • Professional experience in Adobe Creative Cloud including Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop and Prelude
  • High standard of filming with large sensor cameras including; Canon C100/C300 and Sony FS700, A7S and FS7
  • Ability to work to shoot and edit to tight deadlines
  • Proactive and creative around setting standards with video
  • Clean driving license


  • Excellent understanding of what makes entertaining sport content
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Distribution and promotion of content
  • Background in sports and passion for football

Technical Skills

  • Experience with various post production and production workflows
  • Experience in video asset management, tagging and logging
  • Motion graphics expertise for enhanced visual social video content
